「DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS」の血を受け継ぐ純ファンタジーロールプレイングゲーム。「ダンジョンズ アンド ドラゴンズ」の第3版ルールを使用した純正統派ファンタジー・コンピューター・ロール・プレイング・ゲームで、強化された膨大で濃密なシナリオと多数のサブクエストが盛り込まれており、全てを日本語で楽しめる。時代背景は前作から30年後が舞台。シナリオは直接の繋がりがないため、前作をプレイしたことがなくても問題なく楽しめる。インターネットを介して最大6人で世界中のプレイヤーとのプレイが可能。16種族、職業は基本11種類(パラディン、クレリック、魔法使いの各宗派・専門職を含めれば30種類以上)から作成可能で、すぐにでもプレイ可能な、作成済み5パーティを用意。また、それぞれのキャラクターを表す顔写真は70種類以上で、プレイヤー独自の画像も使用できる。プレイ中のアクションに対応したキャラクター音声は42種類を用意し、リアルタイムの戦闘ながら、戦闘前、攻撃をする、攻撃をされる、魔法を唱えるなど、様々な状況時に一時停止をさせることが可能で、じっくり行動を考えたいプレイヤーにはターン・ベースに近いプレイも設定可能。
